Strolling in and checking on my Breaking News group today, I stumbled on something I had never seen before on a group page. An ad! (See picture to the right)
Admitted, I'm ecstatic of the progression, but I have a few a few questions:
-Do we earn earnings in the same way on our groups as we would with our column and articles?
-Was this just some type of anomaly, or has Newsvine started putting ads on groups?
-What's going on?
Hm. If this is a development, does the money go to the members or to Newsvine? Also, is there a way to get analytics on a group page?
Great question Eric,
I would love to get analytics on group pages...
I have noticed an ad or two as well. Great questions. I will be looking here for the answers.
Groups have always had ads running on them, and they are not available for revenue distributions. Since all the content is written by authors, the authors of the content receive the revenue.
I hope this answers your questions.
I have never seen them except for the ones are the top of the page that have always been there. It that the one ?
However I still am waiting for a Internet cheapest sales price ad for Viagra on Newsvine Anti-Spam group :-)
I can email you some viagra spam email if that would help, Tedd.
Sure Scott, if you will travel to South Africa to pick up my check for 25 million from my ex cousin that I just got a email from, again and again....
Hey Tedd,
I think we have the same cousin, I think we're related, I got the same email. Sent him my bank account info yesterday...
Tedd and Hamid, if you pay for my travel expenses to go to Africa and a handling fee of 10 percent of the money picked up – that's $2.5 million you'd have to pay me in cash before I go – I'd surely do what you suggest.
I told my mom over the holidays that I've learned, via emails, that I too have Nigerian relatives and we got out the family tree but we just couldn't see anyone listed there. So we're obviously confused.
Opps I just cashed the $2.5 million check..Picking up the Lamborghini Murciélago tonight, dang....Hey I could make it up to you and give you a ride !
