US Denies Reports That North Korea Has Been Removed From Terror List.

advertisement

According to North Korea's Foreign Ministry, North Korea has been removed from the United States list of terror sponsoring countries. The country's news station has been carrying the story, even though it has yet to be confirmed.

The change in the list was announced on Monday in Pyongyang after also announcing that North Korea has agreed to shut down it's nuclear programs. These abstracts have been denied by United States.

Along with the reports from North Korea's Foreign Ministry of being removed from the list came reports of sanctions being lifted as well.

Christopher Hill, the assistant Secretary of State said that "very good and very substantive" talks were held between the 2 countries. Hill also reported that North Korea "will provide a full declaration of all of their nuclear programs and will disable their nuclear programs by the end of this year."

A senior State Department official who wanted to remain anonymous told CNN that the North Koreans have a lot left to work on and that the removal from the list was not imminent. He also reported that such actions may not be taken until February, and even then further actions would be need to be taken.

Also on the US Terror-Sponsoring list with North Korea is Iran, Syria, Sudan, Cuba, and Iran.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

This started out as an article on how they really were removed from the list. Then, I saw that the US denied it; so I had to start over. *GRRR...*
